In our area using screws for framing is not allowed. Doesn’t make sense until you realize most screws are quite brittle compared to nails. When I built my deck I used only enough nails to pass inspection, then used stainless steel screws everywhere else. These screws were soft enough to bend, but not stripping the heads was a problem.
